According to widespread geographic reports, there is currently a RIM data outage effecting several carriers across the United States.
From the Los Angeles area to Atlanta/Birmingham and NYC, there are reports of no email on AT&T, and similar reports on Verizon from New Jersey, T-Mobile in the Northwest as well.
BES IS working just fine but BIS is not working, sending service books works for some people while others are having problems.

I can’t even login to BIS to resend service books at this point. Not a good day.
Emails and internet are down completely. No data connection. Voice and text are fine, but that’s it. I’m on verizon’s network in Central Vermont.
