EMEA BIS 3.0 Upgrade Scheduled for March 14th

The folks in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, & Africa) are getting their BIS 3.0 upgrade this weekend. This is the upgrade that will be bringing 2 way Gmail sync along with quite a few other features we have mentioned before. The normal upgrade cycle is EMEA first and North America the weekend after (sometimes 2 weeks) and that seems to be following with the current rumors.

Verizon Blackberry Nationwide Outage 3-3-2010

We’re getting reports in that Verizon is having a nation wide Blackberry outage. At this time we don’t have a ETA or trouble ticket on this issue. Please comment below if you have any updated information.

The bb-outage mail list has breached the 5000 member mark. Since December 2007, Dataoutages has been the focal point of news whenever fellow BlackBerry owners have experienced connection issues, and connection failures.

Work Summary: Rogers customer with Blackberry devices may be unable to send or receive messages during the maintenance. They may also be unable to register their device, roam in another location, or use other services such as Internet browsing. At the same time, BlackBerry Enterprise Servers may be unable to connect to the BlackBerry Infrastructure during this maintenance.

There is planned maintenance within the European BlackBerry network scheduled for the 16th January within the time window of 0200 and 0600 GMT. RIM expect the duration of planned maintenance to be no more than 20 minutes.
This planned maintenance may result in temporary unavailability of BlackBerry data services, and end users may be unable to send and receive BlackBerry messages for a short time.
