Verizon Activation Problem / Outage 6-1-2010

Called vzw support due to activation problems. They referenced ticket 20559889 with RIM concerning problems with Pin to Pin messaging and BIS activation. BES activation problems noted as well, I didn’t get the ticket number for BES problems

End Time: 06:00 AM (EDT)
Estimated Outage Length: 15 minutes

Work Summary: Rogers customers with Blackberry devices may be unable to send or receive messages during the maintenance. They may also be unable to register their device, roam in another location, or use other services such as Internet browsing. At the same time, BlackBerry Enterprise Servers may be unable to connect to the BlackBerry Infrastructure during this maintenance.

BBM Spam going around

Just fyi, a SPAM message is traveling through BBM users asking them to forward it around, the link is virus related.  Here is the message:

Hello, greetings from RIM (Research In Motion) proprietors of BlackBerry. This message is to inform all of our users, that our servers have recently been really full, so we are asking for your help to fix this problem. We need our active users to re-send this message to everyone on your contact list inorder to confirm our active users that use BlackBerry Messenger, if you do not send this message to all your BlackBerry Messenger contacts then your account will remain inactive with the consequence of losing all your contacts.
