An e-mail functionality issue has been identified within the BIS system. At this time it appears to be a network upgrade or adjustment to the BIS system which is causing customers to lose the send or receive capability on a blackberry.
This issue has not been posted on the Rogers “Whiteboard” and may not be as there is a resolution to allow
customers access to their e-mail once again
To return the blackberry functionality for sending and receiving e-mails please follow the guidelines below for a more timely and educational troubleshooting experience for customers encountering this issue:
Send Service Books from BIS Admin
* Direct the Customer to Redirect to the right page and login *
Educate the customer on “Send Service Books” from BIS site
Test Functionality (Send and Receive on the Blackberry)
Powercycle at this point if necessary and try again
These steps should have customers sending and receiving e-mails once again on their Blackberry. Having these customers go to the BIS site to identify a way of sending service books to their own device without calling in will help eliminate potential calls back into Rogers for this same issue.
Regards,
Rogers Blackberry Tech
